Free, public event, invite your friends!
This will be a fully-leashed event encouraging our dogs to focus on the handler while other dogs are nearby.
Various obedience will be practiced.
NO PLAY OR CONTACT WITH OTHER DOGS.
This walk is free and you participate at your own risk.
This high-traffic environment is great for practicing higher-level obedience. Bring lots and lots of treats!
We will meet at the SUNDIAL BRIDGE, near the Cafe. That's the south side of the river, by Turtle Bay and the Civic Center.
Participants should be prepared to walk up to 1 mile briskly.
As with every skill, some dogs are more adept than others. We encourage everyone to improve their dogs' responsiveness gradually and no one is looked down upon for having less control initially. Shasta Dogs will never purposely make any dog owner feel inferior due to their abilities. Participants are asked to express opinions respectfully to each other and all training tools are allowed.
During the event, we will take some photos that will be posted publicly. If you do not want your photo posted on the Shasta Dogs website and Facebook page, please let us know.
